The HRM-Pro allows you to add devices without having to first pair them. Simply open the Garmin Connect app, tap the three lines in the upper left corner of the main screen, and select Add a Device from there. Enter your Bluetooth address as you navigate to HRM-Pro. Connect can be found by tapping Connect.

Removed the HRM Pro form the sensors on my 955, checked the connection was ANT+ ( it was previously) and re paired the HRM and the watch after I rebooted the watch. Everything seems to be working fine now
